FAQs

What is a Registered Clinical Counsellor?

A Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) is a professional who has met specific education, training, and experience requirements set by the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). In particular, an RCC holds a Masters level (or higher) degree, has completed a minimum of 200 hours of direct client counselling and 100 hours of clinical supervision prior to registration, and maintains ongoing education and supervision throughout their career.  As an RCC, I am committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical practice and providing evidence-based therapeutic support to help you navigate life's challenges.

What is your fee?

I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to prospective clients, to help in determining whether we are the right fit for one another. Following this, my session fee is $150 for both in-person and virtual sessions. My fee may be adjusted on an annual basis, with 2 months notice, in-line with BCACC's recommended rates. I maintain several sliding-scale spots for clients experiencing financial hardship. Please contact me to discuss this further and/ or to be added to the waitlist for a sliding-scale spot.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions we have together will vary depending on your individual needs and goals. During our initial meetings, we will discuss a personalized plan and we will review your progress together regularly to ensure that therapy continues to meet your needs.

What is your cancellation policy?

Your appointment time has been reserved specifically for you. I require a minimum of 24 hours notice for any cancellations or rescheduling of appointments. Late cancellations or missed appointments, without proper notice, will be subject to a full session fee.

Do you offer direct billing to insurance providers?

I do not offer direct billing to insurance providers at this time. However, I can provide you with a receipt, following each session, that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please contact your plan administrator to determine the details of your plan’s coverage for counselling services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#21521) .
